Retro is a social app designed to encourage genuine personal connections in a digital age often dominated by superficial interactions. With the launch of their new "Journals" feature, Retro sought to provide users with a simple and meaningful way to document and share personal moments with loved ones. Daphne Studio was brought on board to create a series of promotional videos that would highlight the feature's functionality, boost user engagement, and reinforce the app's core values of privacy and user-focused design.
Our strategy for the Retro app launch centered on creating an emotional connection with the audience through relatable, real-life scenarios. We developed a narrative that showcased two creative friends living on opposite sides of the world, each exploring their craft and using the Journals feature to share their experiences with one another. The videos combined lifestyle footage with direct app interactions, demonstrating how seamlessly and effectively users could capture and share their moments. By focusing on the emotional value of these shared experiences, we highlighted the ease of use and the deep personal connections that the Journals feature facilitates, aligning with Retro's mission to foster meaningful interactions in a digital landscape.
